hi Juz if the glow plug light is not coming on for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition on this means it is not pre heating before starting which tells me the relay is not working
also there should be a fuse related to glow plug circuit worth wile checking that

as far as i know its the only glow plug heater relay when you tun the car on at the ignition do you get the glow plug symbol light up on the dash and then go out ?
another way to test is have someone turn the ignition key while you put a finger on the relay you should feel it click on and then...
Thanks Tony I will give it a go when you say put your foot on the brake after disconnecting neg terminal on battery do i hold the peddle in for a certain amount of time or just a second or so

i have a 2011 STX550 and just was wondering if this can be done by me or is it more involved than that

Hi Evan Glad you got it sorted i had a chip and throttle control on my STX550 and removed them i really don't think they need it runs brilliant with out them
Hi Old Tony and Evan yes the V9X does have a SCV its on the fuel pump and your problem evan sounds like it could be that its not a hard thing to change with the write tools you will have to remove the couple of brackets and the intercooler hose to the turbo near the air filter box

Problem Solved it was as you suggested Old Tony the viscous fan swapped it out and works a treat thanks again for everybody's help fan now cuts in at 97c all the time
I did the test that you suggested tony and the fan spins a few times when engine stops I went back up the same hill again today and fan cut in at around 104 degrees today I have ordered a new fan clutch (genuine ) but from NavaraParts in Melbourne $459 with sensor Nissan Kirrawee wanted $980 so...

Yep Rang Nissan today to confirm and no they don't have LSD so Landmannn you are 100% correct with rear diff oil 75w 140 synthetic 0r similar and 80w 90 for front diff as stated in service manual so thanks again Landmannn
