D40 whistling noise from exhaust

G'day,
My 2013 ST D40 has recently started making a whistling noise from the exhaust.
it makes the noise as the revs come back down after revving the engine. still makes the noise while in gear and driving.
any ideas as to what might be causing the noise appreciated.

see if you can post a clip of it, I'm inclined to think it's your turbo from my very broad guess work

the noise is definitely coming from the exhaust, and it only started making it recently.

hmm have you checked for exhaust leaks or have done an exhaust system?

That noise is somewhat normal and is definitely from the turbo. When I say somewhat I mean it shouldn't be that loud with a stock exhaust setup.

I purposely did an exhaust mod to amplify that noise

I have not done either of those, I'll have a look for leaks and mention it to the mechanic when I get it serviced next.
I'd be glad if it is just my own inexperience with engine noises and not a mechanical problem.
