    d40 issues...

I have had the same issue with my 08 Dual cab since new. I have also noticed the wipers don't work and the idle revs are up 200rpm on normal and even though the indicators don't show on the dash they are actually working on the outside. Most times a simple turn off/on corrects the fault but on...

    Tray Liners?

Got the Nissan liner in mine, went to Clark Rubber and got some 3mm rubber with a checker pattern, cut it to size and works a treat to stop stuff sliding around and makes it easy to clean out the back.. I have a hard cover over the tub so water etc getting under the liner is not really too much...

    Recall - D40 Navara & R51 Pathfinder Hood Latch

Maybe but I've got some very hard springs up front and low profile tyres which cause a very harsh ride on poor roads. Think I'd rather err on the side of caution and get the recall mod done than have a bonnet meet my windscreen one day on the freeway.

I'll be getting one of those letters. Dang!

    Vehicle Regulations

Be careful with exhaust mods. The workshop which modified my Commodore LS1 told me basically as soon as you change the stock exhaust/headers for a performance increase you will pretty much be outside the emmissions as per the manufactures spec. In WA in the near future police will carry...

    D40 Fuel Economy

Over on the LS1 forum the reasoning to have all up to operating temp was for the relearn process so the fuel/air mixtures will be set correctly. They say drive car for 10 minutes, reset ECU, take car for an easy drive, don't drive too hard, run thru the gears without revving too hard. A reset...

    D40's cool features

I run a long cable from the aux plug in the glove box under the edge of the console and bought a Belkin 3.5v to direct Ipod adapter and use the 12v outlet in the console. My Ipod is out of sight and when you want to use just lift console lid. Works a treat, sounds ok, not a bad compromise if...

    D40 Fuel Economy

My petrol V6 auto gets around 16-17lt/100km, mix city/freeway but mostly short trips. I think the auto adds greatly to fuel usage, the torque converter at surban limits (60-70kmh) doesn't lock up often enough and spends much of the time slipping. Sees a substantial increase at cruising highway...

    d40 tricks

My understanding is a seatbelt warning beeper/light is required to obtain a 5 Star safety rating(not that our trucks come close though). I think one of the Holden models recently became 5 Star just by adding the warning beeper. The best option would be to disconnect the beeper(i'm assuming the...

    D40 vs Outlaw vs Titanium

They use a lower profile tyre so that the overall diameter doesn't alter. So the factory 17"and factory size tyres fit. As far as I know there is only one factroy suspension setup available across the range of dual cabs.

    D40 Wheel alignment-front

I have King Super Low springs on the front and this gives a nice 0.5 deg neg camber. Handles quite good now when compared to stock(Stock was 0 deg camber +/-). The neg camber works well to keep even wear on my 285/35 22's, 10,000km, still have rubber beads on outside and inside of tyres. As for...
