Yeah its the round shiny thing in the first photo, that is not the actually problem its the bit that controls it is letting it flutter when it closes. Just got to wait for the part to come to Wagga. Aido, don't laugh pilot have written up worse...

So the guy at the dealership was really good and helpful, which makes me wonder weather it is a common fault. Turns out the turbocharger boost control actuator round disk with the vacuum tube coming out of the top is not being aloud to close properly by the turbocharger boost control solenoid...

Well I took the car into the dealer this morning and the bloody noise has stopped! Going to leave it through the day hopfully it will rear up its ugly head and start making noises again. I nearly missed out getting Muse tickets because I had to take it in this morning...

It's one of those thing where it's nice to have but if you don't have it the world is not going to come to a crashing end.

And the dealer could not work this out?

If there were wires you could buy a ST unit and steering wheel...or just reach a bit and adjust the volume with your hand.

They are a different headunit, it may not be wired for remote control. Stu PS. One reason why I got the ST over the ST-X was the steering mounted controls, bluetooth, remote fuel cap release and free onroads plus a few thousand in savings.

Hid's do get hot still albeit not as hot as others. I wouldn't go and put your nuts on them to test your theory. Stu

Hmm interesting... I'm and aircraft electrical maintenance engineer so it's my nature to look at the wires before I get my hands dirty :D

Could you trick the valve to close by modifying the harness? Stu

Hello Guys, Got a Dec 09 ST Auto with just over 5K on the clock. It's making a low frequencey thumping noise from the passenger foot well. Going to ring the dealer today but I was wondering if anyone else has heard this strange noise. :sad: Stu

Just installing a UHF and took a picture for anyone looking running wires through the grommet MP3 was talking about. Hope that helps.

I don't like that trim, it would show up wear and tear to easily.
