I think I found the answer - its the cam position sensor on the Injector pump, crap.

My Ute cut out on me when i pulled out of the driveway yesterday at 1800rpm. Ran the scan tool and it only had the one code. 71 camshaft position sensor I can find no reference to the location of a camshaft position sensor, I can find a crankshaft sensor - not camshaft. Help please. 03 D22...

Re pressure test - it is one of the things on the list, but in knowing the crankcase pressure at idle I can put a gauge on the outlet pipe and disconnect the turbo etc and see where the change in pressure is coming from.

Since blowing the turbo in my D22 10 months ago I have been getting oil leaks out of the injector seals. Have replaced the seals but and still getting leaks. When the turbo was replaced the head was taken off and the pistons/rings and bore were all checked for damage/scouring - all still good...

#3 Glow plug has developed an oil leak since the new turbo was put on 3000km ago. At the time of the replacement of the turbo the mechanic also changed the "burnt out" piece of garden hose I was using on my catch can with a piece of "radiater" type hose - of smaller diameter!! THis may have...
