    oil catch can question

Yeah did the rebuild myself, still cost me $2500 with all the new parts and machine work, the cylinder head and turbo where just replaced before the bottom end let go, the previous owner had enough after that. It's running great, just needs a tune to get the most out of it, plus every other mod...

    The D.I.Y. ZD30 remap thread.

I've found a few people who can do it for the right price, but I have a spare and I'm a tightass, haha. I also spoke to the guys at Advanced Vehicle Remapping in Coffs Harbour yesterday about work, as I'm sick of being a normal mechanic, and they do the rechip on the ZD30, and he showed me a...

    Heim joints

You can get sealed Heim joints, they come with a slip on boot that surprisingly works pretty well, just keep it full of grease, especially after a wet day or playing offroad. Problem is they are illegal for road use, you need a rubber bush for any suspension components in Australia.

    17x8 or 18x8 wheels

I am looking at a set of 18x8 steel rims with highway tyres in the equivalent of 265/70R16, I think it was a 265/60R18. Forget what car they were off, maybe a Ranger. They were reasonably priced, right offset, and figured they'd be a much nicer setup for when I did the occasional long hwy...

    oil catch can question

I went with the tried and tested Provent 200 setup, bought the 25mm-16mm reducers that screw into the seperator and some oil specific 16mm hose and ran it temporarily to beside the fuel filter, held in with a zip tie until I redesign the engine bay layout. Cost me all up about $220, but its a...

    performance suspension dfif drop

All it will really do is take some stress of the CV's as it reduces the angles, sadly the bump stops wont allow any more height from the torsion bars. Unless you change the control arms as well. I guess the big question is, do you take it out bush and put it through its paces? As thats when...

    Canopys to suit.

My mate 500kms away has just measured his old 2000 model Hilux canopy he has laying on the tub it came with, after he went to an alloy tray, and the measurements he gave me are exactly the same as the 2005 D22 Navara tub I have, in length, width and diagonal. I'm hesitant to get him to bring it...

    D22 v6 petrol front diff in yd25 - ratios

Actually, no, no one else buy any petrol Navara diffs, I want a F&R set for myself

    D22 v6 petrol front diff in yd25 - ratios

For starters, the petrol diffs are larger, the front diff is an R200 assembly, rather than an R180. You will also have to change over the CV's as they are 5 bolt instead of 6. But the best reason is the ratio change allows for better acceleration once you have fitted the larger tyres, highway...

    oil catch can question

If the lid can be removed, modify the inlet pipe with some extra piping to run to the bottom of the catch can, then stuff the can full of aforementioned pot scrubber material.

Sports Bar and Ally Bull Bar Paint - Black

I'm about to remove my alloy bars that have been painted at some stage black but are flaking off. Last time I did this on another car I used a specific rollbar paint from SEM, costs a bit more but the finish was perfect and never had an issue.

    D22 Italian Tune Up

When I was a mechanic at Ford, the Holden boys across the yard said they did this to the Holden Rodeo diesels around the 2000 year model, especially the ones that just got driven around the farms without much rpm use. They use to go down the airport strip and rev them in 2nd/3rd and sit on the...

    patrol turbo ???

Thread revive. So has anyone gotten this setup working? From my understanding, you don't require the GU patrol ecu or MAF, the Garret VNT can be controlled by a Dawes or Tillix setup. The main question I have, is will it be a better turbo with more usable power over the whole rev range...

    The D.I.Y. ZD30 remap thread.

Excellent thread mate, looks like you've done a great job of wrapping your head around the ECU programming. I'll reread this thread, but might hit you up soon for a chip. Also sussing out whats required to socket an EPROM, doesn't look too hard, being a mechanic, I'm pretty comfortable with...
