Thanks Pinelli.......... Either (or Both).
Trying to get a copy that tells me the standard size tyre (hopefully 235/75/15 cause that is what is currently fitted) & the recommended pressures.
Cheers,
Arthur
Can anyone take a photo of the tyre placard & post it here please
(our 1988 TD27 4x4 is faded so much I can't read it and I am wondering if the tyres currently fitted are standard or not 235/75/15)
Cheers,
Arthur
Good News........ I visited QLD Motor Registry and they said even though it is unregistered I only need a "Safety Certificate".
No need to go over the pits (Yeah!!)
From what I remember of the safety certificate it only refers to general condition of the body so I should be ok with just...
Not sure about other states but in QLD they are really cracking down on "Lift Kits"and "Big Tyres". Issueing "Defect Notices" on the spot (28 days to rectify must go over the pits) to anyone with more than 2" factory lift or > 10% variation on tyre size.
Sounds like you have it sorted............... the problem now is the grip on your tyres.
If you only use it on road then consider highway terrain tyres that will give you more grip hence less locking up when braking.
Thanks Tony........ We just bought a MIG Welder (car is a project for us to build for Zac to learn to drive and him to use as an appprentice carpenter). Zac has done MIG at school so plan is for him to teach me to MIG also.
Did not know about the Inspection though and wonder if I just take...
The Trayback version has a mount under the rear behind the axle.
I currently have the tray off mine so I took a photo and put in the D21 Gallery.

The rest of the body is preety straight, just the forward footwell rusted through. I was wondering even though mune is a dual cab if I could just buy the front floor from a 2 door.
Posted photo of the rusty footwell in the D21 Gallery...
I was up at the Glasshouse Mountains yesterday also......... did you have a radio ? Lots of people within radio range could come & help (I counted at least 50 4Bs playing around the powerlines. (Hindsight is a wonderful thing........)
