I found out where the seal goes by looking in my D40 service manual. Where it is located I would say that it may get left out quite often but I need to know how important it is and as no one seems to know about it I think it is quite scary.
Does anyone know how critical the small red seal on the back of the cylinder head behind the cover is?
The head my mechanic took off did not have one and he only found it in the VRS kit after fitting the head.
