    Overheating problem

Thanks @tweak'e. I've already tried that. I had the drive belt and fan off. Same noise. It is a bit hard to tell, but seems to be coming from intake side. Could a noise like this be from incorrect install of something like an injector seal?

    Overheating problem

Another day, another question. I've managed to figure most things out and get the Nav running again, but I have a knock / click sound I can't figure out. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

    Overheating problem

Righto. That came off when I got a new airbox. The Nav was running fine for years without it. I'm not sure what to look at next. Any thoughts?

    Overheating problem

G'day again. Life got in the way and this job has been on the back burner for a little while. I've sorted out the fuel issue (thanks @tweak'e ). I still couldn't get it to start, so I checked the fault codes with a paperclip and had: • 0407 - crankshaft position sensor • 0401 - ??? • 0406 -...

    Overheating problem

Ok. So I've got the old girl back together, the weekends aren't long enough. She won't start though. Trouble shooting so far, I think no fuel. I've had a search and it seems the primers aren't great. TBH, I've never had to use a primer before and don't really know what I'm doing (just press...

    Overheating problem

I've got a forefront winch intercooler (small one), patrol turbo, custom airbox, BAET stage 2 (20 PSI). EGT gauge starts at 300 degrees, I can only get it over 400 if I really try. It usually sits under 350.

    Overheating problem

@c2fe3 no, I have 3 inch. Why do you ask?

    Overheating problem

Thanks @tweak'e Do you think the overheating is just from the broken separator plate in the water pump? I was thinking of running a couple of flush cycles to try and clean some rust.

    Overheating problem

I've tried cleaning with degreaser and acetone. This is where I'm at so far. I'm not sure how much more I can clean off, should I be using something else?

    Overheating problem

Thanks @tweak'e . I checked the gasket when I pulled it out, it's a two notch. I've got the head sitting upside-down on some blocks. I had hoped this was enough to protect the injectors. I'll clean the head up and upload some more pics. Although I was planning on just replacing it, someone...

    Overheating problem

So the head it off. I was expecting to see something obviously cracked, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Something I noticed is the the head gasket has delaminated at both ends. One bent while I was removing the head, can this cause issues?

    Overheating problem

Thanks @Erick . I may have made the job a little bigger than I needed to. I really wanted to get the head off yesterday so I could place orders. Anyway, I got everything into the right position, locked the scissors gear and removed the timing chain. I thought there was too much tension on it...

    Overheating problem

Me again. I'm trying to work out the best way to get the timing in the correct position before removing the head. TBH I was trying to avoid buying a huge socket just for this, but I think this is going to be easiest. Is there any other way? I've had a search and found 2 options, the socket...

    Overheating problem

The water pump is off. That has been the hardest thing so far. I found one of the nuts is especially hard to access. I think I've found my problem though. This was inside the pump housing, any ideas what it is? I haven't heard any strange noises, but the water pump blades have seen better days.

    Overheating problem

I'm off to get some 1/4" gear.
