    Oil leak from intercooler

G'day all, it's been a while. I've been reading some of the other threads about this same thing and Tony gives some very good information about it. Question is what happens if the cause isn't addressed? Also should I replace the rubber elbow hose ? I'm quessing it might have a hole or crack...

Limp mode when headlights are turned on

No I've never had LEDs, but knowing l had a brake light out on 1 side and a tail light on the other made me think it could be something to do with that. Haven't had another issue since.

Limp mode when headlights are turned on

I was looking online and found a couple of things to do with LEDs causing the issue. I've got standard globes and changed them hoping for the best outcome. I'm wondering if the other brake globe was about to go and getting hot or something which caused limp mode to kick in? 🤷‍♂️

Limp mode when headlights are turned on

Thanks mate, I just hope it's the end of the issue. Seems strange to me that it would be that simple. Don't have the mechanics name but it was Jamieson automotives.

Limp mode when headlights are turned on

Hey guys, I've posted a couple of times and got some pretty good feedback but never really been able to give any helpful advice in return. So this is to hopefully help out anyone who ends up having the same problem. I've got a D22 2011 str 2.5 commonrail dual cab and yesterday it went into...

    Overheat on hill under load

Sounds like the radiator to me. I've had the same problem towing a 1.3ton trailer up hills then temp drops once l get to the top. Just replaced the rad yesterday and problem seems to be solved. If I didn't have all the foam crap everywhere blocking the view between the rad and oil cooler l...

Well new rad is in. So far so good. Not surprised l had issues, ripped out those damn foam things trapping all sorts of rubbish against the too

Engine taking a long time to cool down.

Just picked up a new koyo radiator and had a good chat with the mechanic. He popped the bonnet stuck his hand on the back of the radiator and said it's stuffed. Most of it was stone cold. Said the thermostat in the front of the fan wouldn't be registering any heat.

Engine taking a long time to cool down.

Thanks for that info. Got to admit the car was neglected for a few years and is well and truly due for an oil change. Going to pick up a new radiator this arvo and if the problem is solved then get onto the oil.

Engine taking a long time to cool down.

Thanks old Tony. I've looked at the back of the radiator and don't see any rubbing marks but the front looks pretty dirty. I'll have to try your other suggestions and see what happens. Cheers

Engine taking a long time to cool down.

I've got a 2011 str d22 and I've been having cooling issues for a few weeks whenever I'm doing over 80 mainly on hills. I've read other threads to do with this and the fan clutch seems fine. Flushed and replaced thermostat but still happening so figure l should replace the radiator. Weird...

    Str battery replacement

The guy's l went to knew exactly what size l would need. Drove straight into there workshop, popped the bonnet, and they already had the batteries ready to go so they had the old ones out and the new ones in straight away. Couldn't have taken more than 3 mins .
