Friend of mine is a car electrician – he opened up the switches, cleaned the actual contacts and all are working again! YES!!

Having the same issues on my rear windows. Guess all the red dirt from lapping around Oz is causing the problem. Will see if contact spray works miracles.

Same issue here since today’s morning. Seems like my Navara is collecting every possible fault. 🤮 But after having spent 3K and wasted 1 month of our travel I don’t wanna end up near a workshop anymore.

Apparently it was caused by some melted wires as the brand new alternator was acting strangely as well. So guess, the "old" alternator didn't need to be replaced ;-(

UPDATE: I pulled the right strings and told my story someone I met months ago. He happens to have a friend who has a friend who is a NISSAN dealer and he could provide me parts number for that valve body. NISSAN Mackay still couldn't find it but as they would not do the repair anyway, I didn't...

Thanks Old Tony! Warrenty insurance just told us they pay 1.5K to have our transmission computer replaced. Where we get one is our problem, so contacting the wreckers you suggested is a good point on saving money. You last sentence is giving me goose bimps and I just hope it's all good after...

NISSAN dealer says their procedure is to exchange the entire transmission even though it's not necessary …*but that's their way of doing it. So they have suggested towing us now to workshop #3 (some guys they now down the road) where they are not tied to NISSAN procedure and might just replace...

UPDATE: They have traced 2 faulty wires linking the ECU fuse box (hope that's the correct term) and the transmission. Will redo the wiring and hope that sorts out the problem. Keep my fingers crossed!

UPDATE: Mechanics gave up and we got towed to Mackay. Tow operator made us a good deal and I was very annoying on the phone when I rang insurance so they are paying for that tow as well. Third-Party-Warranty only pays for a aftermarket-second-hand-alternator, not a new one. But we already...

UPDATE: Mechanics have replaced the alternator and the car is still not running. Car's Computer is telling the alternator to provide 15V and as soon as we put in a gear (D - automatic) fuses blow. This countryside mechanics are trying their best but running out of options. Need to be towed back...

I just had the entire transmission flushed (not just a oil change) to provide good viscosity to the system. Didn't help much ;-(

Our car blew up on second day of traveling (hose crack on the cooling system) so the dealer fixed it, flushed the system, filled it with new coolant, cleaned the radiator, … I guess it's connected to the transmission which has a lot to do and contributes heat to the system. I bought myself one...
