Hi does anyone know whether there is a gasket on the top timing tensioner. I don't remember one coming off but watching a video on you tube on timing chain replacement I noticed they put one on.

Cheers

I can't see one mentioned in the manual, either in pictures or instructions.

A gasket may change how far the tensioner sits out from the engine, depending on where the gasket is being placed.

There is definetly not one in the service manual i have for pre 2010 spainish i suspect it is added by nissan later on or yd25 as a failsafe to prevent oil leaking out of the tensioner

When i tore my engine down after the crank snapped there was one in there, it went back in, figured it couldnt hurt ( i had the dual row kit installed)

Tony, the gasket sits between the tensioner and the rear timing chain cover mounting point
