Do these bits differ from model to model, year to year, Pad Thai or Spanish Fly ??
I have been advised that these will alleviate my smoke and power problems,
I hope to sort my problem for as little cost as possible.
I have a 2010 Thai built D40 2.5 Ltd turbo diesel. Any advice is highly valued, cheers in advance people..

The SCV is different depnding on Thai or Spain. There are many differences between Thai and Spanish too numerous to mention. I've learnt from experienced it's safer to double check and purchase the correct part for your version.

I believe there is two SCV types, A long type and a short type.
Diesel specialist could prolly tell you via a VIN search....or grab a tort bit & carefully remove it & measure the length & take a photo before ordering.

But...
Excessive black smoke is usually a loss of air (boost) not a loss of fuel.
