Help please, I have replaced my glow plugs and still have the same hard cold start issue, chugging and smoke.
No other issues running or hot start.
The code is present only after starting, ex, if I scan and clear the code before cold start then proceed to start and suffer issues as above and the code P0647 sets again.

Still chasing this code
Can anyone tell me if this wiring is factory

Well, it seems like they are fusible links, looks like I have to dig a bit deeper into the loom and try trace/test the three small wires.
Any help at all would be appreciated.

That wiring does not look standard. Are you sure the code is P0647 and not P0674. P0647 is to do with the air conditioning clutch relay which shouldn't interfere with the car starting. P0674 refers to an open circuit on glow plug 4 which is more to do with the glow plug replacement. Hope this helps.

Sorry, typo code P0674
Had two people tell me now the loom is nissan but I have my doubts, worked on a lot of different cars and never seen a loom like this...

Hey Trex4x4
99% sure that is not factory wiring. I see non Nissan self resetting breakers in there as well.
Benno
I tend to agree with you, it looks a bit adhoc and, even if they were fusible links, why would you need one at each end of a loom, I could understand having one, but no need for two in series...
Breakers are for electric tow brakes?
There is also a red arc charger of some sort next to them, yeah they not OEM, not sure what the red arc does?

It does tell you in the picture you provided.
The redarc charger is an auxiliary battery charger. This may be used to charge another type of battery. This could be used to power secondary work/ camp lights or to run a fridge while the car is off

Yeah, thinking about it, it is probably for a battery in a trailer or van etc as there is no secondary battery in the ute.
