Spare tyre!

Just seing if anyone can confirm for my spare tyre size.

Have gone to 285/75/16 and still have spare rim wich was a "17".

If I just replaced with a second hand tyre of 285/70/17 wich is meant to give me same overall diameter will this be ok?
Or should I buy a second hand "16" rim and tyre?

Only for emergencies but don't want to cause any damage!

It's almost the same mate just put it on the front if you are unsure perhaps measure it against the others with a tape.

Thanks mate yeah done a online conversion and came up the same maybe few mm difference just didn't know if the rim size difference mattered although couldn't see why it really would.

Rim size won't make any difference, look at the space saver spares on new cars... As long as the overall rolling diameter of the three is the same you're good to go.....
