Hi guys I've just had a scan done on my nav d40 and it's brought up a few solenoid faults and a brake fault I've been searching through the forum and seen that I may have a faulty valve body and or tcm can anyone confirm also if I can get hold of a replacement valve body and tcm will it need programming thanks guys

I'd be hesitant to replace the valve body + TCM in a hurry, be certain that you need to do this before jumping (see a good auto trans specialist first). A new valve body + TCM will cost you $1800 (at least) and Nissan charge a couple of hours' labour to program it. You might just need to clean some connections - it's happened before!

We bought a new one and Nissan said they needed to program it (which they took weeks to do).We had it in the gearbox for about 300km before dumping the box (for other problems) and boxing the valve body + TCM - fully programmed - which now lives in my shed.

Just for your information mate think nissan wasn't being honest with you as my new valvebody that I brought didn't need programming and it didn't cost anywhere near what they quoted you

Oh I'm certain that we were taken to the cleaners over it. The whole fiasco was a disaster that I hope others don't repeat.
