The clock springs work EXCEPT that the indicator cancellation happens a little differently (because RHD vehicles take sharper left hand turns and vice versa, I guess), but still have the identical airbag cable which still reaches. My guess is that it would work. They're only a two-pin device so it's not like it's going to be plugged in and go "Hey, I'm on the wrong side of the car, I can't do this, take me back!".
The bigger question is whether or not your car has been written off. I was talking with some people who said that airbag deployment generally means the vehicle's a statutory write-off (NSW terminology).
