Hi , i have a leak on my powersteering pump on 2006 d40 and wondering if any intelligent people out there can tell me how hard to fix this and how or is it a garage job. Dripping every night onto ground and I am topping the reservoir up every couple of weeks so far!
Is this a common fault..Any information would be awesome
Thankyou

Hey thanks for the reply it looks like it is from the bolt hole on the steering gear mechanism?
Got a pic where its from ,hope it makes it clearer.. spanish built vsk model aswell if this helps...

Oil is unlikely to come from that bolt unless it was really loose, and even then the join would have to be damaged or open above it.

If you can't nip the bolt up any amount, the rack might have to come out to be serviced properly.

Thanks for the reply
Any good videos on the rack removal Tony for beginners
Thanks

Not on a Navara, but I found one on a Pathfinder of similar vintage (it will be the same as yours).

I really do apologise for the first 30 seconds, I can't mute it out for you, just block your ears!
