No sound from radio

Good day everyone,

We're working on our 'new' D40 now for a few weeks and have discovered quite some work on it. Chassis is welded, all brakes renewed, bearings new (what a lot of different bearings it takes to find the right one here in NL). Engine is left for big maintainance (tips welcome by the way) but the main issue we can't understand is the sound coming out of the radio/navigation.

It seems the speakers don't let any sound through, navigation guidance works and gives directions only whatever we try to get radio or cd music, it just doesn't work. I've read a bit on the forum about simular problems but before renewing (want to keep it original) has anybody found the problem with the sound??

If you're hearing the navigation commands it means the speakers are working and all the connections are ok (as long as it's the stereo that's doing the navigation). This means it's most likely either the volume for audio (different to navigation) has been set too low or the head unit is trying to send the sound elsewhere (eg bluetooth audio).
