Hi I've recently bought a 2008 d40 and I get it up to around 80-100 ks and when I slow down say drop from 5th to 4th I get a flash from my dash lights and goes limp. Seems as the car shuts off but the engine stays on. But If i give the key a quick flick it kicks back in. Seems electical but I don't really know much about cars any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

It does sound electrical, and may be related to one of the plugs on the gearbox (like the Neutral Position Switch - NPS). But we've also seen strange things like this happen purely from dirty battery terminals - so I'd start with that. Be aware that disconnecting your battery will reset the trip meter and if you have a radio that requires a pin, you should have that handy.

It shoudn't be an overboost issue because the ECU won't be sending a "open vane" command to the Boost Control Solenoid (BCS) while the accelerator is released.
