The primer pump is a known working pump... i also tested it on a d22 and had no problem with it... also if i block the return line outlet with my finger the presure holds..but when i release my fingers it loses pressure very fast.. is that a problem? Also if i release the return line and cut a container to catch the excess fuel, the fuel container refills very fast while the engine is off

i assume your talking about return line to the tank.
i havn't tried it but i would expect it to siphon fuel out the return line. thats the way fuel is meant to flow and its only the restriction of the injection pump that would stop it. afaik there is no valve to stop that fuel flow.

the only thing i can see that may make the fuel flow through the injection pump really easily is if the pressure control valve has failed or stuck open.
otherwise the only thing stopping fuel from flowing through is the vane pump. that might flow more than normal if its worn.

Well i have taken apart my injector pump and it seem straight forward.. the funny thing i mentioned is if i block that return line presure holds so thats a funny thing... also you mentioned a presure control valve.. where is that located? Or is that the solenoid you are referring to?
well of course pressure holds if you block the return line. thats to be expected.

see the fuel inlet banjo there, downwards in the pic on the other side of that raised bit i think is the regulator.

Ninety percent of all problems with engines not starting , losing power and otherwise being a pain has been to do with those priming/strainers. Buy a low pressure fuel pump-$20/30 , put it close to tank on inlet line and replace filter with a CAV unit or similar. Have had them fail, as in leak air from new.

thanks for the infor.. just a quick question, is it normal for a qd32 model to have fuel coming out of the return line while you prime and the engine is off?
