High Fuel Pressure P0089

I’ve recently got an auction Nav, had injectors done when I got it, new ryco fuel filter and sat in the driveway for a couple months. Now driving it I’ve been getting error code P0089. I replaced the SCV + pedal dance and the issue has not changed. My scan tool says my idle FRP is at 50ish Mpa which I believe expected is 30Mpa. MAF sensor is reading 5g/s and at 2k revs getting around 60-70ish MPA on FRP and 20-25g/s MAF. Engine sounds a bit rich but isn’t misfiring just don’t get much boost when accelerating till I get the revs up then it comes all at once. I’ll get the code and go into limp mode when idling and I’ve been clearing it but it comes back next idle.

Where else should I be looking? Next up might be fuel rail pressure sensor and relief valve but it’ll be throwing money away replacing parts for the sake of it. Could my injectors have been mapped wrong causing the high pressure? Should I park her up till the pressure is fixed?

Your fuel rail should get up to 160MPa or more (YD25 = 1700BAR or 24000psi/165MPa, V9X = 1800BAR or 26000psi/180MPa). Idle should be around the 4500psi/31MPa region.

Boost is controlled by a number of factors. Can you confirm:

* Engine type - YD25 (4cyl) or V9X (6cyl)
* Is there a rubber hose or an electrical connection on the top of the turbocharger

If your having fuel pressure problems the rail sensor would probebly be the problem.
