I had lent my Navara to my dad to get to a doctor appointment when he called and said there was a bang and then he lost steering control. Luckily he was only doing 20 on the way up to 110
Passenger side tie rod end separated from the rod/shaft. Literally pulled the thread out of the joint
All I could think was the lock nut was loose and dust/dirt/water has crept in and slowly worn the thread away. Mechanic said last wheel alignment may have tightened the lock nut with a spanner on the other nut rather than the square section of the shaft
Could have been very nasty
