Hey team, thought I’d share the EGR delete I just did on my Spain built YD25 D40.
I opted for the full removal of the pipe so I found some 5mm steel plate, removed both gaskets, and traced the outline on the plate. Drilled the bolt holes first, cut the rough shape with a angle grinder then finished shaping with a bench grinder. Zinc sprayed them to stop corrosion, re used the old gaskets and used some gasket sealer just to be sure.
There was massive amount of carbon build up on the air intake end so I’ll be booking it in to have a full intake manifold clean soon.
Im not mechanically minded but found this was a pretty straightforward job and I feel better that there won’t be anymore exhaust getting pumped through the intakes.
Next on the list of things to do, intercooler flush, install a catch can, alloy intercooler pipes, and a PPD exhaust.
