I have a issue with my D40 which
1) has the coolant reservoir tank boiling
2) Missing fluid in the radiator after a short drive
3) Coolant leaking from around back area of the engine to the ground on start up.
4) No white smoke
5) No over heating when Ideal , after a 10-20 min drive and increased RPM the, Temp rises above mid point.

Not sure if I actually have a head gasket issue , water pump or just loose hose somewhere thats leaking fluid.

Any ideas would help.

Bubbling in the overflow bottle would be a sign of air trapped in the system. If there's a leak near the back of the motor (which could just be the hoses that run to the heater box inside the cabin) this may allow air to be drawn in when the system cools down.

Find the leak and fix it. Then refill the system, purging the excess air and see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks all ...The issue was a blown head gasket...I believe the area of break in the gasket itself played a roll in the symptoms seen...issue is fixed
