Coby's 2006 D40 STX, 5" lift, 33's etc

G'day all, been lurking around the forum for a while and today i finally got the D40 to the main stage i wanted it at all this time, so i thought i'd put her up on here.

My Spain build 2006 D40 STX auto. The modification list so far:

2" Ironman lift front and rear with a set of 15mm Ironman spacers up front to sit it up nicely. Ended up with 70mm rear and 60mm front. Drives beautiful now.

MCC 4x4 polished low loop nudgebar

Pirahna offroad front recovery points up front

ARB beaver plate up the plate with reverse cam

Muffler eliminator pipe

2mm stainless blanking plate in the EGR pipe

265/75/16 Kumho KL78's (soon to be same brand in 285/75/16)

Dvd player in the dash

Plus all the little crap like weather sheilds, plastic bonnet protector, got rid of sidesteps etc.

Future mods: aftermarket cooler / piping, catch can, spray on tub liner and maybe an LED bar. That's about it really.

Did all the work myself except the suspension :)

Just decided next weekend i'm gonna go a set of Kumho KL78's in a 285/75/16 using the factory STX wheels. After a little guard modding should sit around 1" higher.

Good work mate. You will only need to trim the front bumper. Grab a sharp Stanley knife mate. Cuts it like butter. I couldn't help myself when my 33x12.5's arrived so i chucked them in before the lift. trimmed the front bumper and i had barley any rub so you should be fine with your 285's

Looks good! Do you get any UCA to coil bucket contact with those spacers? Was the spacers fitted at the same time as the Iron man lift and if it wasn't how much effect did they have on the ride?

Reason I ask, I just I just had lift in mine. I'm happy with it and the ride is superb but wouldn't mind taking a bit off rake out of it.

Had the lift done 4 days before xmas and only had the spacers done sunday just gone. No UCA to bucket contact at all and the CV's still sit pretty flat. Feels alot better too. They are just 15mm spacers from Ironman.

With this set up i have 70mm rear lift and 60mm front lift. Good to run 285's with a bit of guard chopping

Actually nah, i'll stick with 285's on the STX wheels. I personally dont NEED a 12.5 wide tyre when i weigh it up. 285's will do fine

Well they will fit on the factory STX wheels which is a +20. It's not "advisable" that you fit them on a 16x7 wheel but it can be done.

Getting the 4 tyres plus a spare. The Dick Cepec tyres are supposed to be pretty good. Got them for $330 a piece. So looks like i'll be spending my Saturday arvo with the Nav up on the ramps in the garage workshop chopping some guard!
