Changing oil sump pan on v9x v6 is this difficult

Changing oil sump pan in my v9x is this difficult, why my pan currently has chipped thread and won't hold oil properly leaks slowly

I haven't been under a V9X in a while, and in truth only stuck my head under one a couple of times. One was to see there was not much space, and the second to see how much mud was filling that space ... long story, best not told unless around a campfire!

We've a few V9X owners here now, hopefully one will come along with some news for you.

My sump was replaced under warranty in 2015. Thread had been stripped. They had vehicle for 2 days and I think they had to remove transmission. May be easier and a lot cheaper to use a helicoil or similar thread replacement tool.
