Hi
I have picked up a genuine steel bullbar from Gumtree. It didn't come with bolts. I've found a thread with instructions which lists the hardware, but it only has size (M12 x 35mm). Do I need specific bolts, or can I just grab high tensile bolts from Supercheap?

Thanks

I'd suggest that bolts stamped with 8.8 from Supercheap aren't going to be a lot different in quality than the same thing from a specialty fastener place. The high tensile bolts I used in my motorcycle's tow hitch, for instance, I bought from Supercheap. No dramas with them!

Hi, new to this forum. Did you get any instructions on how to mount the bull bar? I got one from a wreckers yesterday and struggling to attach. Do I have to remove the straight bar?

You've given no information as to what you have ... D22, D40, NP300? Thai or Spain built? Genuine bullbar, ARB or something else?

I mounted my genuine Thai Navara D40 bullbar with no instructions. I'm pretty sure the Nissan branded "genuine" bullbars are made by ARB. Nissan don't make bullbars they outsource to a specialised supplier. I picked it up off Gumtree but at least it came with all brackets, mounting plates and bolts.

Remove the plastic bumper and then remove the metal crash bar that's bolted to the chassis rails. The end of the rails are different between Thai and Spain builds so make sure you have the correct bullbar mounting hardware.
The plastic bumper is usually cut horizontally with a jigsaw along the crease line and you discard the lower half. That upper half has to be installed on the vehicle before the bullbar.
Bolt the mounting plates to the end of the chassis rails then bolt the bullbar to the plates. It's quite easy and took me a few hours.
