if you have power steering ,with engine on check for exesive movement in you steering wheel ,have a helper look at PITMAN arm to see how much travel steering wheel has BEFORE PITMAN arm moves, if its exesivemore than (1 1/2inches or more each way (3inch plus)some of this free travel can be ajusted out, adjuster screw with lock nut on top of box. put a texta mark on one side of screw driver slot, another on steering box , dont lose original position . try hold screw driver still while undoing the lock nut. turn centre screw clockwise dont take all the slack out as you must have some for steering to be able to come back to centre when you let go of steering wheel , Check by driveing at about 3klm/hr while driving straight check position of steering wheel then , turn steering 3/4 turn let go, wheel should come back to centre, try at full lock, return to centre should happen effortlessly by itself , try at dif speeds. if you are not confident dont touch .
