2016 Diesel 4x4 auto

My 4x4 auto, 2016, struggle sometimes to get into reverse and makes a hard noise if you forse it in reverse

It's possible that someone has mistreated the gearbox, or there's some contamination (somehow) - if you took it to a good automatic gearbox mechanic they could throw a test device on and see if it's behaving like it ought to.
