Has anyone had issue with air con thermo fan not kicking in ? Air con pressure is getting too high and purging gas from compressor , apparently according to
Air con place the condenser is overheating due to the fan not engaging . New compressor fitted new electric/viscous hub fitted ? From what I can tell the fan pulses not completely engages ? Fan works fine and regulates engine temps all ok ?
Cheers

The manual for the 2014 V9X engines doesn't seem to include an electric fan like the older YD25s so that won't be it.

You might want to check the actual operation of the viscous hub. Thankfully it's free, it just requires another person. Drive the car until the engine is properly warmed up. Pull over (leave the engine on), pop the bonnet and have your assistant hop into the driver's seat. Now, with the bonnet up, watch the radiator fan and signal to your assistant to turn off the engine.

Does the fan stop straight away? If it does, the hub is fine. If not, you could go to Toyota (yeah I know, but Nissan just don't sell this stuff) and for about $18 buy a bottle of silicone oil. Remove the viscous hub, add the oil (the whole bottle) and reinstall.

If the hub is fine but still not drawing lots of air, check that the blades of the fan haven't got any cracks in them. This could cause the blades to twist under load, reducing their effectiveness.

You might also use an infra-red thermometer and a hair dryer to test when the viscous hub starts closing the valve. Just aim both at the little spring at the front and watch. It should start turning over 80C and have fully turned by mid-90s.

Hey mate

I have put a brand new genuine viscous /electric hub on it $780 worth . Fan works fine when four wheel driving and towing can hear it speed up etc . The 550 has an electro magnet setup as well with fan speed sensor so pulses the fan instead of full engagement like a solenoid . Idling with air con on causes massive heat and increase in the high pressure side and purges the gas out of relief valve in the compressor . Thinking it may be an ecu output issue or maybe bcm
Just can’t find an actual test procedure was hoping someone had similiar issues.
