Car has been running fine went to start it the other day and it will crank over but not start. Fuel isn’t the problem put a reader on and it has code 71 injection pump 1 ( can position sensor). Does this mean the injector pump is cactus cause in know it has no cam position sensor on the engine .

I had my 2010 do something similar and it turned out to be the ignition not working with the ecu, all it took to fix it was a then 10 year old boy playing with the key in the ignition.
My glow plug light wasn't showing before trying to start, that was my only give away. BTW it took a long time to figure out and everyone said it was the injector pump. Since having the problem I've put on another 140k and no issues.
