Hi, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Problem I'm having is that I got no power in reverse when trying to get over something or going up a driveway from a stand still. When driving on the freeway up a hill there is no problem at all ,taking a run up to get over something no problem but if my wheels are backed up against something it only revs to 2k slowly and then nothing.sometimes if a hold it there for a while it just launches.I have changed fuel filter to genuine (slight improvement) ,checked all plugs and clean with contact spray. There is no smoke and it drives and changes gears good.Auto has been flushed and new fluid put in 2 weeks ago.
If anyone has got any pointers it would be much appreciate.
Thank you

Take the car to an automatic transmission specialist and have them examine the slippage of the torque converter. However, be very careful about any offers they make to rebuild it.

I had my own TC rebuilt, and the idiots connected my transmission cooling lines to the radiator (knowing that I had external coolers and hadn't used the radiator connections in a long time). Result was a gearbox full of coolant. They denied any responsibility and I had to take the car elsewhere.

The end result was (the attempted repair by the second mob wasn't good), I sourced a second hand gearbox from a wreck and had that checked, serviced and installed.

A better first step for me would have been to just get a brand new TC and have them install it, making sure that they connected the hosing correctly before letting them test drive it (which is Old.Tony-speak for "beat them senseless with warnings about the external cooler connections" ). As an after-thought, cutting short and gluing inserts into the old radiator connections would have been more sensible on my part.
