Hi everyone. I've got a brand new D40 Nav, and I was wondering what the plastic roof vent/grille was for (other than holding the handsfree phone mic). It looks like it could be used as an aircon vent as well if you plumbed in some 10mm tubing back to the aircon ducts in the dash... Any ideas ?

Nissan actually make an aftermarket rag to wrap around the jack handle for $327 + Gst. Only available for the D40 at the moment.

My 2010 (6500k's) gets a constant whining noise. Turns out it comes from the passenger seat and stops when the missus gets out !

I fitted the Mongoose MCL2000 kit ($120 off Ebay with an extra actuator). See screws in picture (marked with red arrows) for the mounting position of the actuator. Works perfectly and doesn't interfere with the window mechanism.

After a bit of research on the net I found the D22 has a standard 139.7 PCD (like most other 4WD's), and the D40 has a 114.3 PCD. Nissan head office must get these ideas when pissed at their Christmas party !

I always thought all 6 stud were the same (exept for suzuki and Ford F series trucks) and the only consideration to be made was for offset and inner rim clearance of the brake caliper ?? I was considering D40 rims for my D22 as well ?? Does the D40 have a different stud PCD to the D22?

My only thought is that I had Cabin Filters in a company car (Hilux) and in my wifes car (Prado). The amount of dust & bugs they caught was incredible, and on dusty tracks the interior of the Prado stays perfectly clean - not to mention the sh1t that would collect on the aircon fan and cooling...

I have just fitted a towbar to my 2010 STR. They used the same towbar as previous models, but I need a longer gooseneck (100mm) to reach past the rear bumber. The towbar bloke said the 2010 tubs are definitey longer then earlier D22's.

I agree Krafty. I can only go on what the "experts" at the Nissan dealership tell me as this is my first Nissan. I really like my D22 STR - especially for the price - but am growing more dissapointed by the day with Nissan's penny pinching as far as what you would expect to be minimum standard...
