    Tying down a fridge

I went with the sheet of ply in botom of tub and rubber straps through handles down to hooks on ply, stays in place and no drilling holes in your tray.

    Cheap Anderson Plugs - Quality?

I have had a few different ebay ones, all have worked well with their own but because of slight variation between each lot I have had tight and loose conections when mixing plugs from differnet suppliers. As my older plugs were getting brittle from age I just bit the bullet and replaced all my...

    Max speed in 4WD?

Totally agree with you on this! Most handeling aspects remain the same in 4wd or 2wd, only benifit of 4wd is slight increase in traction under acceleration. Don't drive faster because you are in 4wd, the fact you are in a 4x4 means your vehicle probably has poor handeling from the outset...

    patrol wheeks for navara

I used the chrome ST-R Navara nuts. Nissan use tapered wheel nuts on all there alloy and steel rims on both the Patrol and Navara.

    patrol wheeks for navara

Patrol wheels have a 110 centre bore and D22 Navara are a 100mm centre bore but not a problem as the bore is only used to assist locating the wheel onto the studs and it is the clamping force of the wheel nuts that hold the wheel on and no weight of the wheel is taken by the centre bore hole...

    Max speed in 4WD?

The 4wd drivetrain pieces are as strong as the rest of the drivetrain so go what ever speed you feel safe driving over the surface at. Smooth high speed driving is typically low stress on the drivetrain compared to low range driving which produces more torque on the drivetrain. There are a lot...

    body lift problem

Bolts goes up from the botom and nut slips in to the mount on the tray!
  8. Peter ST_R

how much actual lift you get?

With Tough-dog comfort springs I got 65mm lift in the rear as the origional leafs were sagged, tough-dog stated that they were 40mm lift. I wound the front up the same and still had 10mm gap on the bottom bump stop.

    Electrical People - PLease look

You probably have warped a good set by missuse or you have selected a die size too small which will lead to a bend in the crimped lug barrel.

    Electrical People - PLease look

The hand crimpers look to be similar to the CABAC brand ones that I have used daily for 7 years and they are bullet proof. I normally used the ones that go to 120mm2 with longer handles but have used the 50mm ones too and they are good. I have used plenty of hydraulic hand crimpers but not those...

    Clarky...

Hey Josh Clarky is looking tuff as!!! Nice work! I ditched the hook and use a shackle when winching and I put one of the tie down hooks out of the D22 tub in the bar just below the fairlead to hook the rope over to secure the end, looks nice and neat. What ever you do don't pull the plasma out...

    Electrical People - PLease look

Hey Mitch Take it from me, go for the hand operated ones. I am an Electrical Cable Jointer by trade and we use hand crimpers like that for stuff up to 70mm2 often and have hand crimped up to 120mm2 with biger hand crimpers and I have experience with electric and hydraulic crimpers up to...

4wd light on half brightness in 2h

Had this plenty of times especially after being in 4wd. I had the swicth replaced under waranty once but have had it again since. The switch just seems to do that!

    Third battery in tub

From what I understand it is fine as long as both batteries are same type of construction and close to same size, but you may have charging issues with a 100Ah & 50Ah combination.

    Xrox or custom front bar

Bloke at work had his xrox bar pulled off the chassis of his D22. Had a look at it and it has poor mounting and the recovery points don't line up with the chassis thus increasing the load applied to the mounts. I think they are all show and no go! Glad I have a genuine Nissan (ARB built) steel bar.

    cleaning pollen filter

No pollen filter in a d22 but leaves get into the drum fan through the cowl pannel and block the fan. I have cleaned my fan out twice, it is located up under the glove box which you need to remove to access it.

    Just bought a jetski!!!

I decided I wanted another hobby so I have just gone and bought a jetski. It's a Kawasaki Ultra 150 in almost new condition, only 52hr but 13yr old so got it cheap, don't know much about them but my mate found it and assured me it was a good buy. I want to find out more about the thing and...

    Expensive day in the dunes

What torsion bars you got Dilmah? I think it may be poorly fitting splines or too stiff a torsion bar that causes the adjuster to strip.
