The same thing happened to me ,when i first got my NP300 backed into the garage and the aerial got caught in the garage door, i managed to pick one up complete for $40

Last service at Nissan I placed a piece of sticky tape across the oil filter excess hole when I picked it up it was still there. When fronted. The head mechanic claimed they had removed the whole under cover. Wink wink

I empty mine every 3 months and i drain about 100 mil, the inlet from the crank case is in the bottom as the fumes pass through the gauze filter that traps the oil then return the filtered fumes back to the inlet manifold , Make sure you haven't connected the hoses in reverse

Western filters carry the provent 200 that has an internal filter I have one on my D23

I think your have tapped into the tail lights instead of the reversing light ?

Only time will tell ,when others coke up their inlet manifold mine should be still clean ,
