Has anyone found a fix for inaccurate speedo reading?
Oddometer is spot on but speedo is out.
Even with new tyres, still out by 10%,
To do 100kph by gps, speedo reads 110kph,
60kph is 66kph.

Thanks Tony,
Just been adding 10% to speed.
So far no problems with speed cameras.
Will ask the service agent at next service.

I bet they tell you "no".

Australian Design Rules state that a speedo is allowed to indicate zero km below actual speed, and up to 4km/h + 10% above actual speed.

So if you're travelling at an actual speed of 100km/h, your speedo is allowed to show any speed between 100km/h and 114km/h.

If your speedo is indicating a speed within that range, Nissan aren't obliged to adjust it. They said this to me when I asked them the same question years ago.

I think you will find this is a deliberate design feature across most manufacturers. It is better for you speedo to show you going faster than you are so that manafufacturers don't get blamed for drivers speeding. Now that I have larger KS2s on mine the speed is spot on. Other vehicles I drive also show a faster speed. Personally I'm not bothered.

Here in the UK, I have never had a vehicle that reads the correct speed... Always a couple of MPH underneath..
Think of the poopstorm if a manufacturer had speedometers measuring 2 MPH slow..
I had a Ford Ranger that was very optimistic, I needed to be doing 68 on the clock to be on the GPS 60 MPH..

Thanks all, i new it would be a ruling issue,
Being in the heavy vehicle industry for years found most of the trucks to be very close to actual speed.
Cars seem to be getting worse.
Is they were all within 2-3 kph out would be fine.
I found that when you sat on the speed by the speedo it became dangerous as everyone else was trying to pass you.
Which makes it a safety issue.
Goes to show manuafacturers and governing bodies dont care about road safety really.

fuel economy is a huge thing at the moment and over reporting the speed means you drive slower and use less fuel.
