Well it looks like after 380,000kms my injector pump has finally shit the tinšŸ˜Ÿ
After reading the tales of woe of many others on this forum I started saving for the replacement of mine a couple of years ago knowing what was ahead of me.
The good news is that I will probably have enough to get an intercooler kit for her afterwards as well
Codes as follows 47: CKP sen circuit, 73: P3 Pump comm line, 76: P6 spill valve
Same ones I have seen popping up in the forum, mechanic to have a look today

Let us know how it goes. From everything I've read, the most common cause of the pump failing is a component on a small control board.

What annoys me the most is that for the sake of a $0.05 component, a $4K pump is useless because you can't replace the component, or the $2 board it's on.

But, on the other hand ... it's a whole new pump that should get you at least as many km again.

Dang it!.... new pump eh,, fit a pick up pump too! Set it to feed at about 5psi... do the spill line mode too, and adding a fuel cooler doesn't hurt...

What is the spill line mod?
the injector spill line (or return line) normally goes to the inlet fuel line. the mod is to connect it to the outlet fuel line. you need to do it if you fit a lift pump otherwise the spill line goes under pump pressure and can leak diesel into your engine oil, and the result it a destroyed engine.

Thnx for that. And it would help by keeping the hot diesel recycling thru the pump
