HI again, I joined last month But my Navara D22 went with a bang while being driven back from the test station.
We live in Spain, between Barcelona & Valencia & pick ups are hard to find and very expensive..... & trying to get a good one with AC is three to four times dearer than the UK.
One very good thing is they don't have any rot.. found one now and I reading up on big tyres ect ect...
I bought a D40.. I think ? The seller called it a NP300

Welcome to the forum.

Doesn't look like an NP300 to me, it looks like a regular Thai-built D40 from somewhere before 2013, although the door handles and front panel near the headlights don't look right.

That might just be "overseas variations" too, but it's not an NP300 which came out in 2015-ish and had different rims and many had the "NP300" logo beneath the "Navara" on tailgate (with a different shaped tailgate and different handguard on the tailgate).

Your VIN would give you more information. Most of ours in Australia start with either VSK indicating a Spanish built car, or MNT indicating a Thai-built car. There's other information available in your VIN but don't post the whole number here (the last 6 digits are the serial number of your car, the first 11 are about the model).

Mine starts with VSKCVND40A0 which might indicate that it's a 2010 model (from the "A" ), but I happen to know that it was manufactured in July 2009.

I thought it looked like my last D40 with a few bits different.. Spanish made..
I have been told the Spanish one never had the lower cam chain problems.. as it had duplex from the off ?
The local Nissan had no idea if there was a conversion available?... going to a big city next week and try to find out there ?

The lower chain in mine is still a single row chain but Nissan said it's a different quality chain (I called them years ago, and given my car's longevity, I can't argue). My car's seen 380,000km and its chains are in excellent condition but I do get oil changes regularly, I don't flog the engine and I watch coolant temps when working the engine (steep climbs, or towing).

I don't know if the conversion kit is available in Spain but Paul at yd25.com.au may be able to post them to you.

Thanks for that.. being as it's super smooth and quiet at the moment I am going to wait till after the post rush as finished, Ordered a bag from Amazon Prime, they said Tue 13th so I ordered it.. WHEN it was paid for they sent me a ticket "due to busy postal" in this period it will be with you by Jan 19th ???
So I will wait till this silly season is over then order.

Thanks.. Its all very interesting if a bit confusing?
Bit backwards here in Spain in some things..like you need your reg papers or at least your Vin to even order filters.. I'm used to just entering the car Reg No. So I keep a photo on my phone or buy the filters by ref No.
Regards
