Tub 12v not working

Most of us don't have 12V in the tub - I don't know if the newer models have it. What year is yours?

I fitted my own sockets in the rear of the tub on my D23 , could get 12volts + no problem until i plugged something in then nothing ... put a thick earth strap between tub and into chassis ...problem solved . .
