Hi
May be there is a guru or more on this forum who can tell me what this hose connects to. Or is it some kind of over flow hose? I have a small diesel leak on my car. Navara Np300 2016. Very well served. Got under my car this afternoon and found this loose hose not connected to anything. A clip on it that I guess should be used to secure the hose. Smells fuel as well from the hose. Couldn`t find anything in the service-manual. I sits in the rear of the engindepartment. Far down.

Thanks in advance.

B.

There should (as far as I'm aware) be only TWO fuel hoses connecting from the engine bay to the tank - one is the supply which goes directly to the fuel filter, the other is the return line which may go through a cooler (it does in certain 4WD models).

Can you have a look for either:

* A hose on the fuel tank that's not connected any more; or
* A widget under the front passenger/driver area that should have had a hose in it

There's a chance that something (stick most likely, but rock/deer/shrub could do it too) has snagged the fuel line and pulled it out.

If it's a petrol model the hose might connect to the evap system (emission control). This is usually located up the front of the engine bay.

Thank you so muchđź‘Ť

^ They made that marginally more complicated than necessary, eh?
thats actually as simple as they get.
look at some of the USA diesels and its 100x more complicated due to having fuel heaters, fuel coolers, fuel thermostats etc.

It's probably time that I sit back in my loafers and tweed jacket and say "ahh, those were the days".
all depends on the climate and if the manufacture can be bothered doing the extra or leave it to aftermarket.
sometimes we get jap imports with winter kits installed but still not as elaborate as some manufactures.
most jap ones havn't changed much in 50+ years. only thing new is the fuel cooler for common rails and even then many are simplistic.

Hi Doot, what exactly did you do to fix? The hose connects to the overflow for the engine valley. I'm having the same issue now. Thanks!

Hi. In my case it turned out to be a leaking injector. Diesel found the way into the pipe and/or along the pipe. Check injector for leak is my advice.
