G,day. Just looking for things to rule out before getting too worried.

Spent a few days road tripping on remote dirt roads once we got back to the main highway felt air-conditioning get hot and felt a bit gutless pulled off within about 200mtr and the poor bugger was boiling. Lost a little bit of coolant but can't find any cracks, leaks or busted hoses. Not sure if it's from the overflow or not.

No oil in water and no water in oil. Radiator cap does need to be replaced, could this be possible reason for pressure loss?

Any ideas?

Have you tried it again after refilling with new coolant? I take it the radiator is clear and not pegged up with grass seeds etc?
Does it run alright when cold?
Yeah definitely. Radiator is clean as a whistle as far as I can see, once we topped it up and let it cool for a few hours and had a look at a few things we took it up the road and same thing. Within 200mtrs at 60km temp started rising quick. Runs perfectly fine when cold.

Ok. I just had my top radiator port snap off and when it was cold it didn't show any temp increase after I drove down to the bakery and back the next day which was probably a 2 km round trip

I don't think it would be a thermostat fail while driving as it would likely stay open, but the bigger brains on here should be able to help

Id run it with the cap off the radiator, sometimes they wont make bubbles till they are warmed up, as well as check that the radiator gets warm and that it is not a lack of flow problem, i had a thermostat drop its wax and stay shut making the ute warm straight up and keep getting hot. Then i have a current problem where the pressure was from a glow plug tip breaking off and burying in the piston, which then punctured the head.
Good luck mate
