YD25 rocker cover leaks...

Anyone tackled the rocker cover / injector oil seals?
I have two injector tops that are covered in crap....and two clean ones (see attached photos).

The FSM shows a replaceable oil seal for the HP line side entry. But there's no seal shown for the top of the injector and rocker cover?

Mine was the same. Nissan have de listed the top seals as a separate part. Now you have to buy a new plastic camshaft cover which will come with the new top seals.

When I asked why, they said they were always breaking the covers trying to get the old seals out. When I tried to prise them out I found it was almost impossible without damaging something. Once you get yours off you'll see what I mean.

The cover cost me $178 a couple of years ago. It's an easy job so at least that's some consolation.

Yes you do.

As I said before it's difficult to get the old seals out without breaking something so make life less stressful and buy a new cover.

Hi,just read this report. YD25.com , in Murraie Qld,used to sell the rocker cover seals in a kit. I have used them.and it is a bit of mucking around to pry the old ones out and put the new ones in. It is a lot cheaper than a new R/C

Out of curiosity, have you got a catch can, a blocked catch can, can leads to leaks like this...
