Hi I own a 12 month old Navara diesel. It has been back to the dealership 3 times with the engine warning light and subsequent dpf light on the dashboard. The RAC attended pror to me taking it into the dealership and information me my fuel was contamination with deasal. I do understand this does happen as a normal process of the dpf function but my car has had 2 oil changes the previous one only 1800 miles ago and it's happening again. The dealership refuse to admit a problem and tell me it's my fault in me at my wit's end with it. Surely this isn't right. Can anybody help

sounds like you have a D23 navara. the catch is downunder we don't adblue. the dpf are more passive system afaik. (edit: cause i screwed it up)
you need to pull up the engine codes. that will give you some idea of whats happening.

just make sure its not a driving issue. DPF's do not like around town driving. they are more suited to high speed long distance type driving.

I think you mean the oil was contaminated with diesel.

This is a problem with many dpf vehicles, what has happened is that you have incomplete dpf regeneration.

In other words, the dpf cycle has started, but due to the journey ending the dpf cycle did not complete.

You need to carry out a 30 minute trip at 100kph/60 mph at least once per month to prevent this happening.

In the meantime, do not let the garage fob you off. Depending where you are, (assume UK) you should threaten to reject the vehicle, Google up the consumer rights first!

The Garage keep telling me it's my fault but what can I do if the engine management comes on as this prevents the dpf regenerating. I have already paid out £400. I do drive on the motorway regularly but granted not for 30 minutes.

does your model have a regen button? simply park up, push it and let it do its regen.
however thats still masking the real issue which is lack of passive regen when driving.
one prevention measure is to disable, or at least limit the amount of EGR being used, which reduces the amount of soot being produced and then caught.

My car had repetitive DPF issues since new . The last one the engine management light Came on over the weekend back in the dealer again for a regeneration. Came back and happened again 50 mls later . Went back again and they had the car for 5 months classed as URW. Got the car back eventually to find the garage had used the car on multiple test drives apparently and added over 2000 miles on my truck . A total shambles I’d never have another the reliability is appalling.

Time to get formal.

Phone Nissan customer services and raise a case.
Write to the dealer (special delivery at £7) detailing the actions.
Request a meeting with the service manager and calmly express your disappointment.

I have raised a complaint. Nissan have offered to pay as a good will gesture this time but that's not solving the issue and the garage consistently lie about the problem. They said it was just a dpf problem and denied any issues with engine management visa vee contaminated oil. Lucky I had the RAC report with was sent across. I have raised a complaint against the garage. It's such a shame I love my Navara but don't think I'll be getting another one guys.

You can't buy a new Navara in Europe, production stopped last year, so you definitely won't be getting another one!

I run some Liqui Moly Diesel Particulate Filter Anti-Clog through my 07 d40 every now and then and haven't had an issue so far (knock on wood)
