Can anyone advise me of what is the correct level (on the dipstick) on the automatic transmission? I know it is best done at 40 degrees and running, but not sure where the level should be. There are 2 'notches ' on the dipstick, I assume that the first one is to indicate low oil and the second is the correct level, however, there is also a checked pattern on it that starts just below the second notch and extends above it. Is the second notch indicating full at cold and the top of the checked pattern full when hot?

Cheers,
Cuda.

There's a hot side and a cold side (this should be stamped on the dipstick). The "hashed" range is the acceptable level range - as long as the oil level is within that, it's ok.

The exception is the YD25, on the cold side the oil should be between the two notches.
