Hi guys new member
I have a d22 2012 yd2.5 idles fine under revs it got a tap noise any idea after oil and filter change idle fine and drove fine for few kms then tap noise but idle fine any ideas please
Can send video of it

For instance - does the tapping sound increase with engine speed or vehicle speed?

So idle it sounds good n when you rev the Ute increase the revs it taps

Could be Injector hammer. I have the same model, and idle fine bit on tap noise at Idle and when cruising, put the foot down and it goes away, I think it is just the injectors. You can try putting through a purge/injector cleaner. My limited experience with diesels is that the noise is quite normal.

It isles and sound good when u apply the revs it has tap noise and considerable noticeable

Put a bottle of injector cleaner through first then move from there. Or Molly Diesel purge. Bit of a job to set up but works. I did mine when I first got it. and it quietened a lot of the noise down.
