Most weird problems can be traced to the EGR setup.

My leaked at about 30,000km. Replaced under warranty. The after market replacement is the go. Mate had one installed. Major job.

Thanks Damo, my 550 is at 160,000km. Still runs well, but I think the middle muffler is starting to clog up. From my reading the dump pipe construction is the most difficult. The after market systems separate the Cat from the Dump pipe which maybe a good idea. I also see Dump clearance is...

I know many 550 owners have replace their exhausts with a 3 inch system, but I cannot get first had feedback. Maybe some on this forum has changed their exhaust?

If the dealer will not help, try a mechanic. Over the last year I had intermittent driving problems with 550. Eventually the EGR failed and it went into limp mode. We suspected the EGR had been the source of these problems. A good mechanic with connections to an auto electrician will sort it out.

Just to add, the gear hunting at 60km was corrected by Nissan with a new MAP. Late there was still a stumble but not the gear hunting.

I do not the technical details, but I know the EGR opens only at constant throttle. Plenty of people have them. It is just a plug and play item.

The delete cable works as advertised. The V9X will feel different. Gone was that stumble at a constant 60km. Regards, Tom
