I’ve had some health issues so haven’t done the tests yet. Will report back once I’ve been able to do so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

P0238 - time for new turbo?

Ok got it now Tony. Many thanks once again. I’ll do the test and report back - I knew cable tying the vac hoses on the bcs wasn’t a smart move. Will have to chop one of em off to do the test :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

P0238 - time for new turbo?

Thanks Tony for the detailed response. Before I do the test, I just wanted to check a couple of things. When you say a gentle drive - can I change gears (have a manual car) or do I stay in 1st/2nd when I pull off? How much (little) throttle should I use - less than 50%, 25% etc? Should I...

P0238 - time for new turbo?

Ok so finally got an obd dongle and have found that my idle fuel pressure fluctuates between 4000 and 4800 psi. Does this seem excessive? SCV perhaps? Also, turbo boost seems slow to come on under throttle and gets up to about 21psi. On a long hill, boost gradually drops off and I get black...

P0238 - time for new turbo?

Hey folks, My 09 pathy has been running well for the past few months since I fixed the vacuum to the BCS. Recently I have noticed that when the engine is under load and I have constant pressure on the accelerator, it seems to sometimes lose power and the speed and revs drop. Suddenly without...

SMF or DMF with Heavy Duty Clutch?

    No vacuum

A quick update - got a new clutch fitted a couple of weeks ago. Went for SMF Exeedy and I’m very happy with it so far. I got every last bit of use from the original clutch - on way to the mechanics I couldn’t accelerate with more than about 10% throttle without it slipping. I’m not proud about...

Who rides bikes and what are they

I ride a k7 GSX-R600 - put over 30k on it in the few years I’ve had it. Apart from the charging system which is a known issue on this generation bike and that I’ve replaced, it hasn’t missed a beat. I’ve done a couple of track days and attended the California Superbike School at eastern creek...

    down on power?

The left metal tube is capped at both ends. The right tube has a rubber hose at the bottom that probably goes to the vacuum pump (can’t see). The top of that metal tube has a rubber hose that goes to the vacuum supply of the BCS. My BCS also has one rubber hose to the turbo actuator and one to...

    down on power?

Eric, your photo looks remarkably like mine :-) On my 09 Pathfinder, the left metal tube has block off rubber on the top and the bottom. There is a rubber hose that runs down from the right hand pipe to another metal connector. I found that by feel as I too couldn’t see jack from either the top...

    No vacuum

So just did a quick trip to Sydney and back. Car is pulling great and no or very little smoke once all the junk blew out of the exhaust after the cleaning spray. I haven’t messed up the brakes with my new route for the vacuum tubing either so I’m still alive ;-) Now I need to change the...

    No vacuum

So I managed to get the hose off and put a new hose on the vacuum source. Started the car and had suction on the new hose. Then plugged it into the BCS and the turbo actuator started moving. I was not able to put the new hose on the bottom of the metal pipe so ran it straight to the BCS...

    Family tents for bad weather?

Best thing I did was buy a tarp that fits over top of tent - plus lots of framing and poles etc. This setup keeps water out, keeps the tent cooler in summer and reduces UV damage to the tent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
