  • Pete,
Wearing out a centre bearing in no time is more likely to mean stuffed engine and transmission mounts. These are relatively cheap and easy to replace, that would be the first thing I'd try. Converting the bellhousings on the boxes is a bit of a shit of a job, as the bellhousing forms the front half of the case too, so you want to hope the endplay on the shafts stays the same when you fit a different casing.

    Cheers,
    Dion
    Hi mate,

No bellhousings laying about but I can tell you my experience.

With a set of (smallish - Supercheap Auto) axle stands under the front cross member, it'll fit provided you've pulled the gear stick out and at least set the transfer stick free, if not removing it completely. With a set of four car ramps (the little black ones - Supercheap auto again) you can fit it out on a garage creeper rather than dragging it along the floor.

    Cheers,
    Dion
with the auto, you after a v6 or petrol/diesel one? Im seeing my mate this weekend, has heaps of them wrecking. should have one, but ill need to doublecheck.
    Hi Pete,
Already got one of them on the front lawn, otherwise I might have been interested. Best of luck with the sale mate.

    Pete,

I don't know zip about the King Cabs, it's always puzzled me why they were a different style from 86 onwards. In my experience the grilles are totally interchangeable between the utes and the pathfinders, provided they are always coupled with the right guard/bonnet/bumper combo. I don't see why you'd have any issues but like I said King Cabs have always been a mystery to me. As long as it's the pathy style grille it should fit, or wouldn't be hard to modify?? Best of luck!
